Xiaomi is one of the fastest growing smartphone manufacturers in the world, if not the number 1 OEM on that list.
Reports say that this China-based company has enjoyed great success last year and they're looking to improve upon that this year. They've already announced a bunch of devices this year, and they year has barely started.
Xiaomi really intends to leave its mark this year and they want you to know it. Other than the fact they intend to sell 100 million devices this year, the company wants to expand to other markets outside of Asia.
The "Apple of China" intends to introduce a trade-in program for Apple iPhone users. It seems like Xiaomi will allow people to trade their iPhone 5S device for a new Xiaomi Mi Note.
According to Lei Jun's report in Weibo, consumers will be able to trade the iPhone 6 / 6 Plus for the Mi Note Pro. The report also says that users will be able to trade in their iPhone devices no matter their condition, though I guess they'll have to be functional in order for you to trade them in.
This program will most likely be available in China only, and Xiaomi still hasn't revealed anything officially, though we can assume this is legit considering the fact this news is coming straight from Lei Jun.
This is an interesting approach by Xiaomi as the company wants to attract even more users their way by giving out new Mi Note handsets if consumers opt to trade-in your iPhone devices.
