'Suicide Squad' Movie Cast Margot Robbie Expects Pressure For Her Role As 'Harley Quinn'

| By

Currently, there are problems with "Suicide Squad" movie cast as Tom Hardy reportedly backed out.

According to reports, Hardy, who was supposed to play Rick Flag, opted out of the DC movie because he didn't like the script, which reportedly will feature more of Will Smith's Deadshot and Jared Leto's The Joker.

Target replacement Jake Gyllenhaal also reportedly turned down the role. While, there still a role to be filled, one character that is sure to appear is Margot Robbie who was selected to play Joker's side kick Harley Quinn.

Harley Quinn didn't actually start as part of the comics. She was introduced in the "Batman: The Animated Series" and attracted huge following, earning her a stint in various Batman comic titles, the first of which is "The Batman Adventures."

In IGN's list of Top 100 Comic Book Characters, she ranked 45. Harley Quinn is one of the most iconic comic book character and everyone selected to portray her will automatically face tremendous pressure. That is something "Suicide Squad" movie cast Margot Robbie is aware of.

In an interview with MTV News, "The Wolf of Wall Street" star said she is aware of how much scrutiny her acting will get once the "Suicide Squad" movie gets released.

"Yeah, I guess it's intimidating because there's obviously a lot of people I want to please and a character I have to do justice," "Suicide Squad" movie cast admitted.

However, she insisted she is ready and will do everything to give justice to the role.

"But it's a challenge, I'm definitely up for it, and hopefully I don't disappoint."

Margot Robbie is relatively new to the entertainment industry compared to her other co-stars in the upcoming DC Comics-based movie. She first appeared in small movie "Vigilante" in 2008. Her big break came when she was cast opposite Leonardo di Caprio in "The Wolf of Wall Street" wherein she won Empire Award for Best Newcomer and got nominated in several award giving bodies. The "Suicide Squad" movie cast's Harley Quinn will soon be seen in "Focus," "Z for Zachariah" and "Tarzan."

Other members of "Suicide Squad" movie cast are Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, model Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. The film is expected to be released in 2016.
