Game developer Techland has confirmed that the "Be The Zombie" DLC, announced in August 2014, will be free for download for everyone who owns a digital or physical copy of the game.
Xbox One and PS4 console owners may stalk other players using the multiplayer DLC as a "night hunter." It also has skills such as super speed, a grapple tool and special attacks.
"Although the changes affect only the release of boxed copies in certain territories, we want to show all of you our appreciation for your continued support," the "Dying Light" team wrote in a press release.
"Thus, we're really happy to announce that 'Be the Zombie' will be available for free to everyone, on all platforms, in all territories," the game developer explained.
"Dying Light" digital and boxed copies are set to launch on Jan. 27 in North and South America. While, digital versions will be made available in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia on Jan. 28,
Techland has also confirmed that all physical pre-ordered versions of "Dying Light" will come with two free extra DLC packs; Cuisine & Cargo and Ultimate Survivor Bundle.
In addition, everyone who pre-ordered the game will receive "extra weapon dockets," Polygon reports.
Meanwhile, Techland explains that "Dying Light's" publisher, Warner Bros. Interactive, is responsible for the game's distribution. Thus, the publisher might have caused the delay according to a statement by Eurogamer.
"We would like to remind fans and media that Techland is responsible for developing and creating Dying Light," a company representative said in a statement via Eurogamer.
"The publishing and distribution of the game is not handled by us. Once we at Techland know more about how the release of the game will be coordinated, we will immediately inform everyone."
