Now, they will travel from New York to other states not only to stop the Master but also to find cure for the blood-sucking plague.
Expect major changes when "The Strain" season 2 premiere episode airs. From the infected places to the vampires have terrorized the city, to the creatures the protagonist will battle along the way.
In an interview with Spinoff, Guilldermo del Toro teased there will be new types of vampires in the show.
"Actually, we start with The Strain in November, and I'm going to be shooting a creature unit, the action unit, and I'm going to be shooting the Mexican luchador footage, the black-and-white footage that appears in the series," he said.
Speaking of the Mexican luchador, the popular Silver Angel in "The Strain" novels will arrive in the show and will be played by Mexican actor Joaquín Cosío. This casting was first confirmed by HitFix.
"FX has filled one of the key new roles for the upcoming second season of "The Strain," casting a well-respected Mexican star of stage and screen to play a heroic former luchador.," it wrote.
"HitFix can report exclusively that Joaquín Cosío will join the season 2 cast playing Angel Guzman Hurtado," the publication added.
