"The Americans" season 3 premiere episode will air in less than a week.
While the number of days waiting for the return of FX spy drama is dwindling, the troubles the KGB operatives guise as a happy American family will pile up. The cover of Philipp and Elizabeth Jennings (Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell) is yet to be blown. However, with their missions getting harder and harder and their family and integrity will be deeply compromised.
One of those difficult missions is Philipp's involvement to an underage girl, a kind of plot that will reportedly make viewers feel uncomfortable as per E! Online.
A fan asked if the website can provide any more spoiler before "The Americans" season 3 premiere episode and it obliged with something that audience will have trouble handling.
"It was a subject that concerned me," Matthew Rhys said of his character's upcoming involvement with an underage girl. The said "awkward" story will come out by the fourth episode.
"We talked it out. It's with the beauty of the conflict of where this series lies. It's incredibly interesting to watch and play. With this mandate, he's presented with a mission that is incredibly conflicting to him as a father and a human being, but it serves a greater purpose."
E! Online did not say who will play the underage girl but based on "The Americans" season casting news before, looks like she will be played by Julia Garner, notable for her roles in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" and "We Are What We Are."
Garner's casting was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
"Julia Garner is joining FX's spy drama The Americans. The Sin City: A Dame to Kill actress will recur as Kimberly Breland, a young woman who unexpectedly - and dangerously - crosses paths with the Jennings," the publication stated.
