'Banshee' Season 3 News And Update: Ivana Milicevic Says She Has No Idea What The Show Is About Before

"Banshee" season 3 premiere episode opened to favorable reviews that extended up to its second episode.

For the first episode "Fire Trials," AV Club said the show is still in command of what it wants to be and commended it for its "solid characterization and inspired direction."

Den of Geek on the other hand, described the Cinemax action series' second episode "Snakes and Whatnot" as something where "excitement sparks off the screen like electricity," particularly the "brilliant opening sequence."

"Banshee" season 3 premiere and second episode garnering great reviews are testaments that it is now aware of what it is really like. Critics are noticing how good the show's pulpy, steamy scenes. They can now hope that more people will learn about them.

Well, for some actors of the show, they, too, were not really sure what genre "Banshee" really belongs. Talking to Zap2it, Ivana Milicevic, who plays lead female character Carrie Hopewell/Anastasia, said she and her other colleagues used to be confused with their show.

"The first year even we actors were a little confused about what exactly this show was. It was [as if] Quentin Tarantino's son had tried his hand at a TV show," the 40-year old Croatian actress said.

She insisted though that not knowing is something what makes "Banshee" a more exciting show.

"It was tongue-in-cheek and we were winking at the camera. We knew we were being ridiculous, and it was like we were telling the audience, "I know this is silly, but come on, go on this ride with us." If you start going, "Well, that could never happen," you're critiquing us for being a show that we're not. We are definitely not being a straight drama."

"Banshee" season 3 picks up from where it left off in its second season. The show is about an ex-con (Antonny Starr) who assumed the identity of a small town sheriff who was killed in a bar. Other actors in the show are Ulrich Thomsen as Kai Proctor, Geno Segers as Chayton Littlestone, Frankie Faison as Sugar Bates, and Hoon Lee as Job.
