"The Flash Arrow" crossover episodes set the bar for many comics-based TV series last year. Held for two nights, the episodes featured Scarlet Speedster (Grant Gustin) and Emerald Archer (Stephen Amell) share the stage in fighting crimes in their respective cities. Fans also saw the two superheroes battle each other.
It is not just the fans who won in this crossover, even the two shows. "The Flash" recorded one of its highest rating episodes in its young season while "Arrow" had its highest ever rating since it debut in 2012.
With the success of "The Flash Arrow" crossover episodes, don't be surprised if you get more of it in the coming seasons of the two DC Comics TV show. Talking to Collider, Stephen Amell said he is sure that there will be more nights that fans will get to see Barry and Oliver working together to bring down rogues.
"It's fantastic! There's just something about the chemistry between [Grant and I], and the differences between the characters, where we each get to shine a light on the other one, and I think that light is always really illuminating. So, I do hope that we get more opportunities to cross over, and I know that we will."
In November last year, just days after "The Flash Arrow" crossover episodes aired, executive producer Greg Berlanti told TV Line, CW and other writers and producers involved in the two shows are already discussing the possibility of more nights of Barry and Oliver in one world.
"We just started talking about that. It's so much fun to do. They're so hard to do. But I think they'll be so rewarding for everybody, ultimately, that that's our hope, for sure."
"The Flash Arrow" crossover episode is pretty much a sure thing now. During the Television Critics Associations 2015 last week, CW president Mark Pedowitz also announced the crossover could become an annual event following their renewal.
