Kristen Stewart Cheating Scandal: 'Twilight' Director asks for Respect for Kristen

| By

Kristen Stewart is handling a bit of an image crisis as more and more fans of the "Twilight" saga take to social media platforms to vent their disappointment with the actress after she issued an apology, confirming she had in fact cheated on Robert Pattinson with director Rupert Sanders.

Now the "Twilight" director, Bill Condon is opening up for the first time about the controversy surrounding the stars of the hit movie. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly the "Twilight Saga" director comments about the scandal.

"The fact is, these are actors playing parts, and maybe it's not such a bad thing that people be reminded of that," the director said. "Both of these actors gave heart and soul to the 'Twilight' movies, not only during shooting, but also by navigating so graciously the whole life-in-a-fishbowl aspect of the phenomenon. Above all they have always shown great respect for the fans who made these movies such a success. Now it's time that some of that respect be returned to them," Condon said.
