Should 'Blade 4' Get A Green Light? Wesley Snipes Is Up For It As Long As 'The Script Was Right'

| By

Rumors of another "Blade" installment have hit the interwebs following the news that Marvel Studios has reacquired the film rights from New Line Cinema.

Wesley Snipes said "yeah, if the script was right" asked if he would reprise his role as the "daywalker" in a potential Blade 4 movie. Not at all surprising, since the last film, 2004's "Blade: Trinity," failed to perform at the box office and was met with criticism by fans, calling it the most unsuccessful movie in the series.

Marvel hasn't made any announcments yet apart from the releases scheduled leading up to 2019. Makes sense since the Studio only churns out two to three films per year; will all the characters licensed under their name, its highly unlikely that they will be giving "Blade 4" a green light.

Screen Rant puts it this way: "If Marvel owned Spider-Man and X-Men for instance, you'd never get your recent record-breaking hit known as Guardians of the Galaxy."

Marvel's CEO Kevin Feige mentions "Blade" in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"So Punisher, Ghost Rider, ... Blade, all those characters are back. They all have potential, but I think we need to find the right time. We're not going to say, we got it back - make it."

Snipes was released from prison back in April 2013 after serving two and a half years for tax evasion and is rumored to return to his vampire-slaying role. The 52 year-old actor was last seen in 2014's "Expendables 3."

Whether or not "Blade 4" will push through, Snipes seems up for it in this interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"Blade chasing the 'Twilight' kids around? Hey man, there's always a possibility, and I'm open to it. There have been rumors around that we may explore the opportunity, so give me one more shot!"
