The DC and Marvel universe will unravel in the coming years as both brands have already announced their releases leading all the way up to 2019. Marvel has the advantage, as DC has only 2013's "Man of Steel" planted in Hollywood. Marvel is already releasing the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" this year; will DC have enough time to build a JL story? DC seems confident enough as they have decided to introduce characters Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Cyborg in their second release "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."
But with all the characters in "Justice League" and the movie expected to release by 2017, how will they all fit into it? Here's a rundown of characters expected to appear in the upcoming movie:
Henry Cavill will probably hold on his cape as Superman up until "Justice League" Part 2, same is the case with Ben Affleck who will debut as the new Batman next year.
Wonder Woman, who is played by "Fast & Furious" beauty Gal Gadot, is also reported to appear in "Dawn of Justice." She has officially been given her own solo film that is due on June 2017.
There are theories that Aquaman has already made his presence known in the underwater scene in Man of Steel, where whales apparently come to the rescue of a drowning Clark Kent. The king of Atlantis is also slated to debut in "Dawn of Justice," which is also getting a solo film on July 2018.
As far as The Flash is concerned, he is currently enjoying steady succcess from his own TV series over at CW. His last appearance in television was back in 1990, which aired for only one season. It is uncertain if the current "Flash" actor Grant Gustin will be portraying the character on the big screen.
"Shazam" has also been announced getting his own film in 2019 and is sharing the same universe as the "Justice League" movie. Apart from the news that Dwayne Johnson has been officially cast as Shazam's nemesis Black Adam, the movie is yet without an actor to play the title role.
Ryan Reynolds portrayal of the "Green Lantern" back in 2011 was considered a flop with the movie failing to perform at the box office. It is for certain that he won't be returning to play Hal Jordan after the actor has since jumped ship to Marvel, playing the title role of "Deadpool," who gets his a solo film in 2016.
Another character rumored to debut in "Dawn of Justice" is Cyborg. Originating as a member of Teen Titans, Victor Stone aka Cyborg was introduced in comic book "The New 52" as a full fledged member of Justice League. Played by actor Ray Fisher, a "Cyborg" movie is slated for a 2020 release.
