"Penny Dreadful" season 2 has unleashed another trailer, and this time fans see how the evils of the past return to haunt Dorian Gray, Timothy Dalton, and Vanessa Ives.
Nearing its April release date, the newest trailer of "Penny Dreadful" season 2 reveals the arduous task that character Vanessa Ives faces, and how the other characters' lives are intertwined.
"Do you believe the past can return?" Eva Green's character Vanessa Ives narrates in the trailer. While fans already know that she faces demons (literally) from her past, this trailer reveals that everybody else may face the same kind of struggle in "Penny Dreadful" season 2.
Victor Frankenstein portrayed by Harry Treadaway is shown as he views his creation; Timothy Dalton, Ethan Chandler, Dorian Gray and Frankenstein's monster are also revealed in the trailer for "Penny Dreadful" season 2.
In early reports, it was mentioned that spiritualist Madame Kali portrayed by Helen McCrory will be the main antagonist upon "Penny Dreadful" season 2 release date. However, looking at the most recent trailer, it seems that Vanessa Ives and the entire cast of "Penny Dreadful" season 2 will encounter more than what they have bargained for.
In "Penny Dreadful" season 1 (spoilers), fans are left with hearts broken including Dorian Gray is he is rejected by Vanessa. Caliban, portrayed by cast member Rory Kinnear leaves the theater as he fails in his attempt for love, and Victor Frankenstein commits murder as he smothers Brona to make her Caliban's mate. Timothy Dalton finally finds daughter Mina Harker, but kills her to save Vanessa.
Come "Penny Dreadful" season 2 release date, fans will be treated to a brand new, more horrible "Penny Dreadful" season, with episode 1 titled "Fresh Hell." Creator John Logan shared about the upcoming "Penny Dreadful" season 2 during Comic-Con.
According to Variety, he said, "The cosmology, the theology of the show gets much larger [in season 2]-they're thrown into a much more threatening supernatural world. [During season 1, the focus was to] "build a family and bring them together-the joy of writing the second season is building on those relationships in different patterns."
