"Orphan Black" Season 3 release date is April 18. The new season will pretty much carry over the main female clones (all played by Tatiana Maslany) they have featured in the first two seasons. However, in the reports released about the show's return, none includes Rachel Duncan. As you can recall from last season, Rachel Duncan took a pencil to the eye from Sarah Manning who was trying to escape. Fans didn't see the socialite clone from there, making fans suspect she will no longer be seen in the third season.
Well, fans of the ruthless scientist need to calm down as executive producer John Fawcett confirmed fans will still see Rachel once "Orphan Black" Season 3 release date comes. The news was first reported by the Entertainment Weekly.
"She's alive," said Fawcett adding the ruthless villainous clone will now have to deal with her deformed appearance after getting hit in the eye with a pencil. And it is not going to be pretty for her.
"How do you take someone like that and then f- them up? How do they respond to that? This is someone who has a ton of power, really, and thrives on [being above the other clones]. Now to be less than perfect and to have her authority and power stripped from her, that's an interesting journey that character could be on this year."
Entertainment Weekly also teased that Rachel will be replaced in the DYAD Institute which she used to lead. Her replacement, as EW put it, will surely shock viewers.
There is no specific details yet when will Rachel, or her replacement, appear in the third season. One thing for sure though is that the female clones will be in grave danger. One immediate challenge for them once "Orphan Black" season 3 release date hits is the arrival of male clones (all to be played by Ari Millen), particularly the army-trained Rudy who Sarah met in the second season finale. Rudy's mission is to wipe out their female counterparts.
