Well, you better stretch your patience even more as NBC announced "Hannibal" Season 3 release date has been moved to summer. The show is in the middle of production and have already released titles for its first three episodes. That is probably the closest Fannibals can get to their favorite NBC horror drama, for now.
Quoting an NBC official, the Entertainment Weekly confirmed that "Hannibal" Season 3 release date will not air midseason.
The EW wrote:
"NBC is pushing Hannibal to the summer, the network's entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt confirmed Friday. But that's okay, because the network loves summer. "It's a show we love, it's critically acclaimed, we love it," NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt said. "And we also love summer. We have exciting plans for summer.""
So that's it. "Hannibal" Season 3 release date was moved further. Meanwhile, feast yourself with these spoilers that will surely come handy once the third season debut. The Thomas Harris novel-based show is making major changes with storyline and is adding several new characters.
"Hannibal" will now explore the characters in Red Dragon novel. This means adding up Molly, the wife of Will Graham, and Francis Dolarhyde, the novel's big bad. According to reports, Molly will arrive in the show by Episode 8, which also marks a major time jump in the show. As for Dolarhyde who will be played by "The Hobbit" star Richard Armitage, it is not revealed yet when he will appear. Dolarhyde is described as a serial killer with a penchant for biting his victims.
Also coming into the show is X-Men star Tao Okamoto who will play Chiyoh, the handmaid to Lady Murasaki, Hannibal's Japanese aunt. Italian actor Fortunato Cerlino was tapped to play Inspector Pazzi, a detective who will eventually become Will's ally. Mason Verger will now be played by Joe Anderson who replaces Michael Pitt.
