Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder surprised everyone by getting engaged that no one has taken the news harder than Ian's former love and 'Vampire Diaries' co-star, Nina Dobrev.
Nina Dobrev, 26, is understandable shocked by her ex boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder, 36, getting engaged to "Twilight" actress, Nikki Reed, 26, after just six months of dating!
Nina and Ian were together for several years so it is no surprise that she would be upset by the news of his engagement to his girlfriend of six months, Nikki - although Ian and Nikki have been friends for years.
An insider said how Nina is feeling. "Nina is devastated over the engagement news," our insider revealed. "She can't believe this is all happening so fast. She is completely shocked. She heard the news from mutual friends and can only shake her head in disbelief. She new Ian and Nikki were into each other but she never thought in a million years they would get married this quickly! It's a tough pill to swallow."
Despite the couple's split they have remained professional and continue to work closely with one another on their long running show, "Vampire Diaries."
Ian and Nikki have definitely not been shy about showing off their incredibly sweet romance. Ian took to Instagram to share a picture of the couple and spoke about the first week of 2015.
He wrote: "How I spent my New Year's Day - in a #tbt way- wow. Week one of 2015. Thank you for giving me so much strength - we're ready to kick major a** and make a great future starting now . Happy 1st week of the New Year- I hope you're on track with making your future the most sustainable and harmonious one possible...
