"Us Weekly" just confirmed that "Twilight" star Nikki Reed and "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder are already engaged only after six months of dating.
According to a source, "She accepted with glee," and added, "She is madly in love." Another source added of the couple, "They were friends before, the groundwork had been laid before. They had always been attracted to each other, but always in another relationship. It may seem quick, but they knew it was right. They believe in the same things. They are dedicated to their work and helping others."
In July last year, "Us Weekly" broke the news that the couple was dating. The 36-year-old actor as well as the 26-year-old actress had moved in together after three weeks and have adopted horses Eagle and Millie, dogs named Nietzsche and Enzo, as well as a kitten named Sophalia.
Last month, engagement rumors had sparked when Somerhalder was spotted ring shopping at Neil Lane. At that time, as source told "Us", "Ian bought a vintage diamond eternity band for Nikki. It's not a typical engagement ring but actually a wedding band you purchase for when you get married."
To add fuel to the fire, Somerhalder hinted on Instagram that 2015 is going to be a great year for them and then posted a romantic picture of the couple with their dogs. "The O.C." alum Reed had been married to "American Idol" season 10 contestant Paul McDonald and they split on March 2014 after nearly three years of marriage. Both remained amicable and still make music together. Their divorce was finalized just this month. For Somerhalder, this will be his first marriage.
