Dexter Series spin-off was first discussed in the early parts of its last season. However, the last people have heard about it is January last year. One year after, there were movements again. The brain trust behind the hit psychological thriller starring Michael C. Hall are now close to an 'ideal' plot for the offspring show.
At the Television Critics Association earlier this week, Showtime president David Nevins teased Dexter Series Spin-Off will be something that will have Michael C. Hall, although not in the lead role.
"It would have to involve Michael [C. Hall]," he said when asked for details regarding Dexter Series Spin-Off.
"I think if we were to do it, I would only do it if it with Michael."
Nevins also clarified that the Dexter series spin-off will not be a continuation of the last events in the show's finale.
"It would have to feel like it's a new show. I'm not interested in doing it if it's just a continuation."
Among the stories and characters being considered for Dexter series spin-off by fans are about Yvonne Strahovski's Hannah, Batista Nights wherein Batista will preside over a cast of wacky regulars at his Mexican restaurant, Dexter's infant son Harrison, young adult Astor, and Julia Stiles' Lumen Pierce who was introduced in season five.
In January last year, Michael C. Hall spoke about the possible Dexter Series spin-off.
"I can't even wrap my mind around that. And it's all just theoretical until there is some sort of script reflecting somebody's idea of where it could possibly go," he said.
"But it's hard for me to imagine what that would be. Yeah, as far as playing Dexter again for an undefined amount of time, that's a little daunting to consider. But doing another television series - there's a lot of amazing stuff on TV. I don't want to do that right away. But I wouldn't say never to that."
