‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Trailer: Marvel Releases Second Trailer For ‘Avengers 2’; Shows New Characters! [VIDEO]

Marvel Studios dropped the new trailer for "Avengers: Age of Ultron" during Monday night's college football championship game. And though there wasn't all that much in the way of new footage, the studio got plenty of yardage from eager fans analyzing every new frame.

"Everyone creates the thing they dread," warns James Spader's indestructible robot Ultron, the villain of the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster, in a voiceover at the start of the one-minute, 40-second trailer.

But of course director Joss Whedon has created something that movie-goers will be rampaging into theaters for on May 1.

The plot focuses on the robotic creation of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark, a misguided effort to direct Iron Man's drone forces to ease the pressure on the human Avengers.

Instead, the artificially intelligent addition to the team computes that it would make more sense to wipe out the human race. Cue some intense fight sequences where Ultron makes a star-spangled pulp out of Captain America (Chris Evans) and drops the hammer (so to speak) on Thor (Chris Hemsworth).

"Trouble always seems to come around," says Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury.

Fortunately, that seems to be true.

There are half-seen clues of other characters - including a better look at Andy Serkis' gun-toting character that many fans are predicting will become the super villain Klaw.

Most importantly, there is a slightly longer view of the epic throwdown between Mark Ruffalo's Hulk and Iron Man, who's decked out in what comic book readers know and love as his Hulkbuster armor.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" also brings backs "Avengers" stars Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner, and it introduces a trio of new super heroes - Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Quicksilver and Paul Bettany's The Vision.
