'A.K.A. Jessica Jones' 2015 Release Date Remains Unsure, According To Marvel; 'Breaking Bad' Actor Krysten Ritter Stars In Series

With the rising fan-base for Marvel superheroes both on the big screen and television, another female crusader is set to save the world in "AKA Jessica Jones". The question is, will she be appearing anytime soon?

Development began in 2011 and recent news reveals that although "AKA Jessica Jones" plans have progressed, specific release date details have yet to be confirmed. And aside from casting, nothing yet has been set to stone.

"AKA Jessica Jones" was first rumored to launch by its 2015 release date; however, this might not happen according to Netflix. In a report by IGN, Ted Sarandos, head of Netflix commented on "AKA Jessica Jones" release date.

He said, "Jessica Jones hasn't started production yet, so a lot happens from the first day on the set to the last day of production. So we want to give them enough room and enough time to make a great show, so I don't want to set up a rigid timetable and deliver a show every eight months or every twelve months, but you should expect them about a year apart."

While "AKA Jessica Jones" 2015 release date remains unconfirmed, it still is a possibility. Although fans are expecting "AKA Jessica Jones" release date to be late 2015, it might come early 2016. When asked about "AKA Jessica Jones" premiering on 2015, Sarandos said, "It's too hard to say now," according to the same report.

What's definite today in "AKA Jessica Jones" development is the casting for the lead character, Jessica Jones. Krysten Ritter may have gotten her big break as she has been selected from a roster of equally talented actors, and will play Jessica Jones upon "AKA Jessica Jones" release date.

She is known for her work in the AMC hit series "Breaking Bad" as Jane Margolis, lover of character Jesse Pinkman. She has also appeared in movies "27 Dresses" in 2008 and "Confessions of a Shopaholic" in 2009.
