CES 2015 was expected to be a parade of new flagship, but the most anticipated LG G4 didn't make its first appearance at the said event instead LG unveiled a mid-range phone the LG G Flex 2 which is now up for grabs at Amazon.
Though the rumored LG G4 didn't show up at CES 2015, Ken Hong, Director of Corporate Communications for LG, dropped some hints on about the upcoming flagship.
In an interview during CES 2015 he said, "I think we will [experiment with our high-end phones]. I think we have to," Ken told the website, adding, "If you look at the specs only, there are other competitors with similar-spec phones. How do you stand out in that pile if you're not doing something different?"
He adds, "I don't think we are going to be able to sit back and expect people are just going to fawn over the G4, or whatever the name will be, just because they liked the G3," he continued.I don't think it works that way any more. I don't think people are as loyal on the Android side as they are on the iOS side, so you really have to win every customer with your products."
Moreover, Ken Hong did not reveal the LG G4 release date, but many have speculated that it is imminent because its benchmark was spotted at Geekbench's website.
The listing revealed minimal details on the said upcoming flagship from LG. Under the hood, it will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 SoC from Qualcomm and clocked at 1.55 GHz. The handset with model number F510L believed to be the LG G4 will be shipped in Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Meanwhile, iKnow Today speculated that the LG G4 might feature either a 5.5-inch or even a 5.9-inch display with Super AMOLED screen with 2K or 4K resolution and protected by either sapphire crystal glass or Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
