DC's/Warner Bros. Suicide Squad is set to release after Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016. The villain-centric film will be directed by David Ayer and will introduce both familiar and new characters to the DC Universe and the big screen.
Deadshot, Harley Quinn and The Joker are all popular Batman villains while Captain Boomerang, played by Jai Courtney in the movie, is a villain of Flash and is yet to be popularized.
Ayer gave an update on the film on his Twitter by publishing the photo that shows Courtney getting in shape for his role in Suicide Squad:
Suicide Squad will be the first of its kind, a movie starring villains as the main characters - we just don't know yet if enemies such as The Joker and Harley Quinn will be already introduced in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, we'll just have to wait and see.
The upcoming film will star Jared Leto (Requiem For A Dream, Dallas Buyers Club) as The Joker, Margot Robbie (Wolf of Wall Street, Focus) as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney (Divergent, Terminator: Genisys) as Captain Boomerang, Will Smith (I Am Legend, Men In Black III) as Deadshot, Tom Hardy (Dark Knight Rises, Inception) as Rick Flagg and will introduce Victoria Secret model Cara Delevigne as The Enchantress.
