Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal are proving to the public that years after they have broken up, there is still no bad blood between each other. On Sunday, January 11 at the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards, the two stars were seen at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with other big stars.
An insider had revealed to "Us Weekly" that the 38-year-old "This Means War" actress and 34-year-old "Prince of Persia" actor had a touching moment together during one of the commercial breaks of the show. The insider said, "Reese paused and hugged Jake Gyllenhaal." The onlooker continued, "They looked happy to see each other!"
The former boyfriend and girlfriend were both nominated for awards at the 2015 Golden Globes. Reese Witherspoon was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama for her work in the adaptation of "Cheryl Strayed's "Wild". However, she unfortunately lost to redhead beauty Julianne Moore who got the awards for the film "Still Alice".
On the other hand, Gyllenhaal was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama for the movie "Nightcrawler" but also lost to Eddie Redmayne who got the award for the film "The Theory of Everything". Though Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal lost, they both looked very spectacular that evening.
Gyllenhaal looked very handsome while donning a black tuxedo with a black bow tie. He walked down the red carpet with his sister Maggie Gyllenhaal, who won Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Film Made for Television for her role in "The Honorable Woman". Witherspoon wore a metallic beaded strapless Calvin Klein Collection dress which she accessorized with more than $1 million in Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
Witherspoon dated Gyllenhaal after she separated from her first husband Ryan Phillippe. They met on the set of their film "Rendition" in 2007. Witherspoon said back in November 2008 to "Vogue" magazine, "He's (Gyllenhaal) very supportive. Suffice it to say, I'm very happy in life, and I'm very lucky to have a lot of really supportive people around me who care very much for me, and, you know, that's all you can hope for in life. I am very blessed in that way."
