Calling a medic to the red carpet! The "American Horror Story" actress Kathy Bates had an unfortunate accident at the celebrated Golden Globes for this year, 2015. Last Sunday, January 11, the 66-year-old actress was injured badly just around an hour after the awards got under way at the Beverly Hilton.
The insider had revelaed to "Us Weekly" that the actress had "screamed out in pain and almost collapsed" before she tried to het herself steady on a chair. It is still unclear what really happened at that time, but the insider who witnessed the entire thing had speculated that some other person may have stepped on her foot.
The witness then added that Bates had "limped back to her table and looked to be crying in pain". The onlooker continued that other people were helpful enough to tend to the injured actress.
At that time, "Us Weekly" quickly caught up with the actress at the Patron-sponsored Fox party to which Bates replied, "I'm fine now! I'm absolutely fine."
Bates is at the Golden Globes in support of "American Horror Story", which had earned a couple of acting nominations. One nomination was for the "Titanic" actress herself. Come awards time, she unfortunately lost to "Downtown Abbey" actress Joanne Froggatt.
During the glamorous night event, Bates had walked down the red carpet holding her cellphone which had the words "Je Suis Charlie" which is actually a rally cry honoring the victims of the recent terror attack on the Paris office of Charlie Hebdo.
Kathy Bates had appeared in several roles in film and television during the 1970s and 1980 but rose to prominence with her outstanding performance in "Misery" in 1990. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in that film as well as a Golden Globe award. Afterwards, she had done more roles on films and has won several more awards. Her most recent work is in the horror series "American Horror Story" where she plays the character of Madame Dephine LaLaurie.
