Banshee Season 3, The Last Time To See Lucas Hood And The Crew? Series Creator Jonathan Tropper Explains

| By

Banshee Season 3 premiere episode aired on January 9. The first night of the Cinemax action drama received great reviews. Screen Rant commended the episode titled 'The Fire Trials' for its fight scenes describing them as "a big, bold, and exciting introduction" to the new season. Yahoo TV described the show as something that is "hitting its stride, and that stride averages about 100 miles an hour."

While Banshee Season 3 episode one, or the whole series itself, gets overwhelming reviews from critics, series creator John Tropper is aware that the show will not run forever, that it has a time limit. Therefore, they are making each episode as if it is the last.

"We definitely have a sensitivity to the fact that the central premise of this show has a time limit on it," Tropper told the Huffington Post before Banshee Season 3 premiere.

"We always felt that we could work within that universe for about five seasons of 10 episodes, and then either we would find a place for the show to evolve, and if not, we always knew what the ending of the show was. So we would either make it a five-season show or be open to any organic evolution that comes. We were not going to be writing eight seasons of a fake sheriff."

He is also confident they will get renewed but they don;t hold back when it comes to the things they need to improve so each episode won't look stretched.

"We treat each season like our last season. We kind of know the show is doing well and we will get renewed, but we never say, "Let's hold that for Season 5." Anything we can think of, we put out there while we still got a crew and a cast and a budget."

Banshee Season 3 premiere with the episode The Fire Trials and saw the characters, lead by Antonny Starr and Ivana Milicevic, move on from what transpired in the second season finale.
