Are you ready for "The Flash" Season 2? You better be because it is coming and not even the Rogues can stop it. The Entertainment Weekly confirmed that hit fall show will have a sophomore run (no pun intended) along with other fall shows like "Arrow," "Jane the Virgin," "The Vampire Diaries," and more.
EW wrote:
"The network has picked up another round of Arrow (season 4) , Jane the Virgin (season 2), Reign (season 3), Supernatural (season 11), The 100 (season 3), The Flash (season 2), The Originals (season 3) and The Vampire Diaries (season 7). In other words: The CW just renewed every one of its fall shows."
According to CW President Mark Pedowitz, these shows set the bar in TV programming and fans can expect better shows in the years to come.
"Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience," Pedowitz said.
"By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season's storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups."
"The Flash" series will return on January 20. The comics-based show, who stars Grant Gustin in the title role, was initially ordered with 13 episodes but after positive response, it got a full 23-episode.
Now, with both "The Flash" and "Arrow" getting renewed, will they do more crossover episodes? As you all know, the two nights the Scarlet Speedster and the Emerald Archer shared were successful. It would not be wrong if they unite again.
In an interview, executive producer Greg Berlanti said that there might have more "The Flash-Arrow" crossover episodes in the future.
"We just started talking about that. It's so much fun to do. They're so hard to do. But I think they'll be so rewarding for everybody, ultimately, that that's our hope, for sure," Berlanti told TV Line when asked if there will be more the Flash Arrow crossover episodes at the second of the season.
During the Television Critics Associations 2015, CW president Mark Pedowitz said "The Flash Arrow" crossover episode could become an annual event.
