Bill Cosby making jokes about sexual harassment. Really a bad idea.
The comedian who was accused of sexually abusing several women had joked about the allegations against him during his stage show in London, Ontario on Thursday, January 8. The veteran comedian joked with a heckler about the claims that he drugged women's drinks. This was reported by the "National Post".
According to the publication, as well as several audience members had tweeted during the show, the comedian, who is a former star of the long running "The Cosby Show," had paused his comedy routine when a woman in the front row of the audience stood up during his mid-performance to go get herself a drink.
After the woman stood up, Cosby then questioned where the woman is going and an audience member had explained that the woman went off to the bar and the audience asked Cosby if the comedian wanted a drink.
Cosby then reportedly replied, "I already have one," looking to his bottle of water and continued, "You have to be careful about drinking around me."
What he said shocked the audience but it quickly became laughter. However, Cosby was yelled at by a male audience during a different part of the show saying, "We don't love you Bill!" The man who yelled and his friend were then taken out from the Ontario's Budweiser Gardens venue while he was screaming, "You are a rapist. I'm being ejected because you are a rapist."
Afterwards, there were several protesters who gathered outside the venue, as they were not happy that the venue allowed the veteran comedian to perform. After the show ended, Cosby then thanked his audience.
In a statement by his publicist, he said, "Dear Fans: One outburst but over 2600 loyal, patient and courageous fans enjoyed the most wonderful medicine that exist for human-kind. Laughter. I thank you, the theatre staff (Budweiser Gardens), the event organizers and the London, ON Community for your continued honor and support. I'm Far From Finished," the comedian wrote.
