Microsoft has finally ditched the colorful hues of the Lumia line up, and followed the 'Gold' editions trend of prominent phone makers like Samsung, Apple and HTC.
The Redmond based tech firm has announced that a gold limited edition of the Nokia Lumia 930 and Lumia 830 will go on sale in "select countries" in Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, China, and the Middle East.
According to GSM Arena, only 3000 units of the Nokia Lumia 930 Gold will go on sale with a price tag of CNY 2899 (about $470). While the Lumia 830's price is still unkown.
Though wrapped in a gold plated case and black battery cover at the back, the Lumia 930 holds the same Full HD 5-inch AMOLED screen; will still be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800 SoC with a quad-core Krait 400 CPU coupled with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM; and sports the 20MP PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics.
While the Lumia 830 will have a black and white variant and said to arrive in February in select countries in Europe, Asia Pacific, China, and India. The midranger phone has the same 5inch screen and 1280 x 720 resolution. It offers a PureView camera with bright and clear image on its 10MP rear camera and 0.9MP front camera and armed with a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM. Its internal memory of 16GB and expandable up to 128GB memory via a MicroSD. It also offers an alternative storage of 15GB on OneDrive.
To make the deal more interesting, Microsoft bundled the DC-20 Car Charger and Nokia DT900 wireless charging pad and other gifts with the Lumia 930 and Lumia 830.
The Nokia Lumia 930 will be available online and via Microsoft's Chinese flagship stores starting January 19.
