Analysts said that despite the affair Kristen Stewart had with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, it may not affect the November release of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2," costarring Stewart's real-life boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.
Both Stewart and Sanders made public statements admitting that they had the affair and indiscretion - photos of the two in Los Angeles intimately together last week were released in US Weekly, showing the two kissing in a car and hugging on a terrace. Even though the affair was confirmed by both parties through statements, analysts believe that the scandal won't be detrimental for the release of the final installment of Pattinson and Stewart's multi-billion-dollar making franchise.
"It could make her actually more alluring," Ian Drew, a senior editor at Us Weekly magazine, told the Associated Press on Thursday. "It's not like Sally Field did this, so it could actually enhance her appeal and make her even bigger."
"The shocking thing is (Stewart) cheated on Robert Pattinson, who is this guy who everyone in the world wants," Drew continued.
"The fans are so romantically tied to this movie in both the real-life romance and the on-screen romance, so I'm sure this is hitting them pretty hard," box-office analyst Paul Dergarabedian of Hollywood.com told the Associated Press. "They think of Bella and Edward and Kristen and Rob like family - characters they absolutely love on screen and in real life. For a 14-year-old girl, this is probably heartbreaking. But are girls not going to see the movie because of this? Heck no."
"There's a soap opera going on off-screen, and people love to follow that," Dergarabedian continued. "I think it only serves to raise awareness of the movie."
Fans have gone through social media, like Twitter and Tumblr, to cry out against the admissions, claiming that the images in US Weekly were altered and really aren't of Stewart and Sanders together, and that Pattinson does not deserve the heartache.
Pattinson has yet to comment on the ordeal.
