News of the pop-punk trio's latest album have been shrouded in controversy being that this is their first effort to be released after splitting with their longtime label Interscope.
Updates soon followed that the band has already found a "partner" in releasing their record:
"We've been searching vigorously for a partner of how we're going to put that out. I literally think I got the last email last night, as far as signing this paperwork to say, "Okay, this is our partner." So, I can't announce anything yet, but next is all the scheduling of when and how, where and with whom we do it. So I think the goal is right after the holidays, we're going to be going pretty hardcore" - from a radio interview with WRRV.
Guitarist Tom DeLonge recently gave an update with an interview with NME:
"We've just started the conversation in the past couple of days of when/where and how to start recording," said the "I Miss You" singer. "We've been kind of taking our time trying to figure out the best way to put the record out, you know. I think we just solved that puzzle a couple of weeks ago. I don't think we have anything to prove. I think we have to just try and go into it and try to make the best album of our career and create a situation that's really creative and conducive to that idea."
He also let a few details slip on how the record wilt be in terms of sound:
"Blink is celebrated for its immediacy and its legacy and for its potential, but not in the realms of doing things that elevate it about the audience. It has to be something that's tangible and down to earth in a way."
Blink 182's last release was "Dogs Eating Dogs" EP back in December 2012, independently launched after their splot from Interscope in 2011.
