Many BlackBerry and other smartphone users have long waited for the arrival of the BlackBerry Q20, also known as BlackBerry Classic. It is the Canadian phone maker's latest flagship device, and with its official release last December 17, buyers who went through the pre-order process could not wait to grab hold of the said device and reviews of the much anticipated Classic have been good so far.
According to Al Sacco of CIO.com, the "BlackBerry Classic is the best smartphone the company has ever released." Although not all Android and iPhone users will be tempted to switch their most loved device to The Classic, this should not be an issue because BlackBerry knows its market and is realistic that way so as long as every buyer of their device is satisfied, that's already a plus point for the company.
As expected, the best part about the BB Classic is its keyboard. For those who missed typing with actual keys, they will definitely love the device. Most reviews say that the Classic's keyboard is almost like the one on BlackBerry Bold 9900, but better because of the "straight frets or thin bars in between each row of keys" which makes typing more accurate. Also, the "steel bezel" of the device is now made of Corning Gorilla Glass, which is known to help decrease damage in case it is dropped. Basically, when one looks at its physical qualities, BB Classic is reportedly one of BlackBerry's "most handsome" devices ever made.
On the other hand, some first time users said that the Classic is really heavy, which can be a turn off, considering the trend of smartphones today wherein everyone wants their phone thinner and lighter as possible. Moreover, it only has 16GB of fixed storage so there is not really much soace to store unless one buys a media card. In terms of display, the Classic's resolution is not as high as its other smartphone competitors, but we all know BlackBerry did not promise the moon when it comes to specs. Same is true with its camera, which works better in bright environments. Moreover, one can only use up to 8 apps at the same time. This is a letdown to most who are used to running more than 8 apps to keep up with time.
Overall, the BlackBerry Classic delivers what it promised. The company has always said that the new flagship device is "designed to look, feel and function like one of the most popular BlackBerry devices ever made," and it does. After all, it has always been a phone intended for business purposes, so if used beyond its design, one will get disappointed.
