Holiday season is now finally over and this is good news for TV show-holics who are probably waiting for their favorite series to return.
Among the highly-anticipated comebacks is the hit crime-fighting series "Gotham" which is now ready to kick off the second half of its season.
As a short recap, Gotham ended its first half focusing on the young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and young Selina Kyle's (Camren Bicondova) escape from their perpetrators.
Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is now also reinstated to his new assignment from Gotham PD to the newly-opened Arkham Asylum. This followed after the detective's "reckless" actions.
New place means new additional players in the story. Cast news now indicated that "Homeland" alum Morena Baccarin will be joining the Batman prequel show as Dr. Leslie Thompkins.
Speaking about her character, Baccarin said in an interview with IGN about the tweaks the crew has to make on Thompkins' origins.
"They're not sticking too close to the original mythology from the comics. Basically she and Jim meet at Arkham Asylum where he winds up working after the last episode," she revealed.
Nonetheless, Thompkins and Gordon will hit up easily as they both shared a common goal.
"They're both two people who are trying to do the right thing in a city that's corrupt. And, like him, she's someone who doesn't really stand for bulls---," Baccarin went on to say.
Meanwhile, a synopsis for the upcoming episode titled "Rouge's Gallery" was posted on The Futon Critic and it reads:
"Det. Gordon's assignment at Arkham Asylum gets off to a rocky start when the murder of a guard ignites an investigation, leading him to meet Dr. Leslie Thompkins (guest star Morena Baccarin, "Homeland"). Meanwhile, Cobblepot continues to build his army."
