Did you know that Marvel and DC Comics are sleeping on the same bed? Well, at least the persons involved in their TV offerings. "Arrow" Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim is the husband of Tara Butters, the co-showrunner of "Captain America" spin-off Agent Carter. The two, along with "Agent Carter" writer Michele Fazekas, sat down for an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. It is so fun it has the best possible "Arrow" Season 3 spoilers you can have.
The trio talked about a lot of juicy things and one of which is having "Arrow" and "Agent Carter" for one night. You cringe, right? Can't blame you given the fact that the two characters are from different comics companies and different universes. The only thing that connects them are Guggenheim and Butters. However, the thought of this is surely entertaining.
Guggenheim first asked the question if Butters and Fazekas are willing to have their shows crossover for one episode. The two girls said it might not be possible and it is difficult because "Agent Carter" is on a different time period. Fazekas said:
"Would Oliver time travel back to her? Because my immediate answer is no. Not that I don't love time paradoxes and time travel stories, but for whatever reason, with Peggy Carter I don't want to do time travel stories. So if it's your Arrow and our Peggy Carter, I can't see a world that you would be able to do."
However, the "Arrow" exec does not want to drop the idea.
"I would love to. I always love a challenge. I love doing something crazy outside the box. I think part of the challenge is the time, but also making the two tones work. It's like super challenging. But yeah if we did something like The Notebook,"said Guggenheim.
"Arrow" Season 3 saw one of its best run so far last year. For its eight episode, it welcomed "The Flash" (Barry Allen), to help Oliver Queen hunt down a villain. Before that, Stephen Amell's Arrow visited STAR Labs for the eight episode of the Flash and contained a possessed Barry Allen.
Marvel and DC are two different worlds. What do you think of Guggenheim's idea of "Arrow" crossover with "Agent Carter?"
