‘American Horror Story’ Renewed For Season 5! Ryan Murphy Says ‘First Two Episodes’ Of ‘AHS: Freak Show’ Are Clues To Fifth Installment

The success of the anthology series "American Horror Story" has catapulted the show onto the development of its fifth installment soon after the premiere of the fourth, titled "AHS: Freak Show." Creator Ryan Murphy talks development of "American Horror Story" season 5.

While "American Horror Story: Freak Show" is ongoing, news on "American Horror Story" season 5 is slowly creating its own buzz as both "AHS" veterans, creators and producers are chiming in the sharing of development news.

Creator Ryan Murphy shares that he was able to figure out the story for "American Horror Story" season 5 early on, as the clues of its plot is in the first two episodes of the currently running "AHS: Freak Show".

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Murphy said: "There are clues in the first two episodes because I figured out Season 5 very early on and I know that the fans love that. So there are clues that are dropped."

Soon after this news, "American Horror Story" fans quickly took to social media their guesses about the clues floating in "AHS: Freak Show", to which Ryan Murphy replied: "I've been looking, and nobody has gotten it right."

In "AHS: Freak Show", the first two episodes are titled "Monsters among us" and "Massacres and Matiness", respectively. While the first episode introduced the fans to the characters of "AHS: Freak Show", the episode 2 showcases the corrupted minds of those in power, specifically during the murder of Meep while in prison. In one of these episodes, Emma Roberts' "AHS: Freak Show" character Maggie takes a coffee cup with a top hat drawn into it. In the same interview, Ryan Murphy says that that top hat "is a big season five clue!"

He said: "It's an arcane clue, but it's very purposeful, and it illuminates something that you'll be like, 'Oh!'"
