Marvel's "Agent Cater" premier is just a couple of days away. It will grace the television on January 6 while another Marvel TV project "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is on a break.
While some comic fans are comparing the show to the Shield series (in a good way), Hayley Atwell, who plays the title role says they should see her new show as something like the ones they saw on the big screen, only that it is divided into four episodes.
According to earlier "Agent Carter" spoilers, the ABC show about Captain America's former lover will have eight episodes. However, each night won't be like what you see on a regular television. "Agent Carter" is not a serial drama-action series as per Atwell.
"It's not like, 'Let's find this 'bad baby,' now let's find that 'bad baby,. It goes to a much deeper, darker place," Agent Carter said in an interview with TV Line.
"I was absolutely shocked and delighted when I started to read the later episodes and see the direction we're going in," she continues. "That's one of the advantages of having only eight episodes, is that it's not diluted over 22. This has a very strong story and is essentially four films."
In a separate interview with IGN, Atwell also teased that all "Agent Carter" episodes are tight and fast-paced.
"Yes, it's incredibly tight, the script, which is great. It's fast moving and fast paced but luckily because it's not stretched out of 22 episodes, nothing is diluted," she said when asked if viewers should expect a more focused story.
"Every line is vital to not only moving the story and the action alone but also developing the characters. So you get to know these characters incredibly quickly. You get to know who you should be trusting, who you shouldn't be, and then it takes you on this adventure with a lot of surprises and twists and turns which are a surprise to Peggy and they'll also be a surprise to the audience."
Aside from Hayley Atwell, "Agent Carter" TV series also stars James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray as Jack Thompson, and Enver Gjokaj as Daniel Sousa.
