U2 frontman Bono has revealed that he may never be able to play guitar again after his serious bike injury in November.
The singer was reported to have under gone a surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian hospital for a fractured little finger, and various injuries with his "funny bone," caused a tear through the skin and fractures in six places and a broken eye socket after the accident in New York's Central Park.
Bono has revealed that he has no recollection after the injury. "I have no memory of how I ended up in with my humerus bone sticking through my leather jacket. Very punk rock as injuries go."
He added: "I would very much miss fingering the frets of my green Irish falcon or my (RED) Gretsch. Just for the pleasure, aside from writing tunes. But then does the Edge, or Jimmy Page, or any guitarist you know have a titanium elbow, as I do now? I'm all elbows, I am."
The 54-year-old singer wrote on his A-Z summary of 2014 that he will spend the first half of 2015 concentrating on his recovery and cancelled all his public appearances, but hasn't hinted that he will retire soon after the injury.. He also wrote that his letter will be his only communication for the first part of this year.
"The consequences of this freak accident are significant enough that I will have to concentrate hard to be ready for the U2 tour in fitness terms... as a result I have cancelled every public appearance and decided this missive is all the communication I can manage for the first half of 2015, beyond muttering and singing to myself of course."
He also talked about learning from his mistakes on his 6,000-word post in U2's website adding "the first of which is the discovery that I am not an armoured vehicle."
