Norman Reedus opens 2015 with a huge surprise for his growing fan-base as he confirms that Troy Duffy's crime film initially released in 1999 will return on the big screen. In an interview with Reddit AMA, "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus was asked about the rumors circling the development and release date of "The Boondock Saints 3".
Always a man of few words, "The Walking Dead" star Norman Reedus directly replied to the question saying, "Yeah its on. In the works, happening."
Norman Reedus stars in the "The Boondock Saints" franchise alongside Sean Patrick Flanery and the two play fraternal twins Murphy and Connor MacManus, respectively. The brothers become vigilantes and vow to rid their beloved hometown of crime with their friend portrayed by David Della Rocco. Willem Dafoe who plays FBI agent Paul Smecker hunt down the vigilantes in this first installment, "The Boondock Saints."
The film generally received negative reviews, with Rotten Tomatoes rating "The Boondock Saints" "rotten" as "A juvenile, ugly movie that represents the worst tendencies of directors channeling Tarantino."
However, "The Boondock Saints" slowly grew in its fan-base, that led to its own cult following. In 2009, "The Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day" was released, with returning lead actors Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus. And it's not until the first days of 2015 that "The Boondock Saints 3" news of development has been finally confirmed by Norman Reedus himself.
