There's much talk going around Morena Baccarin's appearance in Fox TV series "Gotham." According to earlier spoilers, the "Homeland" and "Firefly" star will play as Dr. Leslie Thompkins who in the comics served as a mother figure to young Bruce Wayne. Baccarin joining the show was first revealed by "Gotham" director Danny Cannon in an interview with IGN. He didn't say when she will debut on the show so fans have no choice but to check on Gotham episode guide from time to time.

Well, the wait is over. Morena Baccarin will finally make his debut on the Batman prequel TV series when it returns on January 5. The episode, titled "Rogues Gallery," will see Dr. Leslie Thompkins work with Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) who was assigned at Arkham Asylum, the most treacherous place in Gotham City that houses the world's most notorious criminals and psychopaths.

In earlier "Gotham" episode spoilers, Cannon hinted that Baccarin's role will be bigger than what most fans will think.

"Absolutely. And maybe that's why their relationship may have some lasting effects, because I think they have a lot in common, too. He is vulnerable, and he can't really do this alone. No, we have a lot of plans for that relationship, and not just to support Jim but also to make him vulnerable," the Gotham TV series director and producer said when asked if Thompkins will have great effect in Jim Gordon.

McKenzie then confirmed in an interview with the Daily Beast that Baccarin's character will be his character's love interest.

"They just hired Morena Baccarin on Gotham to play my love interest, Dr. Leslie Thompkins, and she said, 'Hey, I did an episode of The O.C.!' and I was like, 'What!?'" said McKenzie while talking about his previous show the O.C.
