Marvel has has revealed their Phase 3 plans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The superhero studio has announced the third Avengers film - Avengers: Infinity War, and will be release in two films, Part I & Part II in 2018-2019 respectively.
But this leaves fans wondering if the original cast will make it to Infinity War, as most of them are already nearing the end of their contracts namely Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.
Reports claim that Avengers Infinity War is likely to feature a new team of heroes as new characters have already been introduced before it is released including Ant Man in 2015 and Doctor Strange 2016.
As the title suggests, Infinity War will be the culmination of all the Avengers' films, fighting of Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) who is out to acquire all the Infinity Stones, some of which have already been seen in Marvel films.
Here's a list with release date of Marvel's Phase 3 movies kicking off next year:
- May 1, 2015: Avengers: Age of Ultron
- July 17, 2015: Ant-Man
- May 6, 2016: Captain America 3: Civil War
- November 4, 2016: Doctor Strange
- May 5, 2017: Guardians of The Galaxy 2
- July 28, 2017: Thor: Ragnarok
- November 3, 2017: Black Panther
- May 4, 2018: Avengers: Infinity War Part I
- July 6, 2018: Captain Marvel
- November 2, 2018: Inhumans
- May 3, 2019: Avengers: Infinity War Part II
In the meantime, the Avengers will next be seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron and will star Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Iron Man along with Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk and Chris Hemsworth as the demigod Thor. Joining them are S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives Black Widow played by Scarlett Johannson and Hawkeye played by Jeremy Renner. Completing the team are fellow agents Nick Fury played by Samuel L. Jackson and Agent Maria Hill played by Cobie Smulders. The Avengers must once again reassemble to defeat James Spader as Ultron, a rogue byproduct of Stark Industries, hell bent on destroying the human race. They will also encounter new characters; siblings Wanda Maximoff and Pietro Maximoff as well as their new ally, The Vision, played by Paul Bettany.
