Based on the latest rumors, there is a chance that Apple will announce the MacBook Air and the iPad Pro during the same event.
Taiwanese media DigiTimes reported that the 12-inch MacBook Air will head into production early next year.
Following this piece of information, the laptop will most likely be released in the second quarter of 2015, at the earliest. Thus, the laptop may hit the market in April. This is further supported by the fact that Apple released the MacBook Air updated with the Intel Haswell processor in April 2014.
The DigiTimes report also revealed that the MacBook Air will sport a thinner chassis, which will shave some weight off the device. This is only natural as the laptop will pack an Intel Broadwell processor set for release next year. The chipset will pave the way for a fanless design that will make the device lightweight.
Other features to be included in the laptop are a 12-inch Retina screen display, new USB Type-C port and better battery capacity.
The iPad Pro, on the other hand, is reported to be released in spring next year.
According to Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri in his note to investors, Apple is working on the iPad Pro for spring release in order to "reinvigorate" the iPad line.
This is because there is a decline in iPad sales although it dominates the tablet market.
Previous reports claimed that the iPad Pro will be a laptop-tablet hybrid as it will have a 12-inch screen.
The device will come with a detachable keyboard that will transform it into a laptop. The device will aim for the business sector with apps focusing on business and entertainment.
The iPad Pro is also rumored to have an A8X or A9 processor paired with 4 GB of RAM, iOS 8 or iOS 9, 16 GB/ 64 GB/ 128 GB internal storage variants, 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.2 MP front-facing camera, and Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
Rumors also say that apple will launch a 4-inch size iPhone 6s Mini next year.
