Facebook Adding Facility Of Keeping Videos: Can Pose As Threat To YouTube

| By

Facebook is now going to add the facility of keeping videos. Users can now have the facilities of video channels on Facebook. This is considering as a threat for YouTube's future as a video watching website, according to a TechCrunch report.

According to TechCrunch the new facility of video tab will be added on Facebook's home page. The video tab can be used just like as YouTube videos. Facebook has already launched the facility on a number of popular media and other Facebook pages. In this trial session, Pages having the facility allows user to pick a video to highlight in a large frame on their video section. There's even a live comment feed to see what others are thinking.

Facebook is now interested on offering services like watching video or TV in one place that means on Facebook. It seems the reason behind this step is, to keeping their position on top of the world of web, just like as Google or Microsoft.

Initially, video pages facilities will be added on Facebook automatically. The playlists, titles, video's length, like counts and view counts will be visible here, just like as YouTube. Those will be provided now like photo albums. Facebook started to give more attention on Video service since last year, first by introducing videos auto-play, then making auto-play video ads.

From May to July, video views per month on Facebook increased 50%, and hit 1 billion views per day by September.

Facebook's interface of Video's isn't that much convenient for users. Businesses tend to refer users to their YouTube channels instead. So, this initiative was expected from Facebook from the commercial thoughts.

According to videoink, A Facebook spokesperson says that Facebook is planning to rollout wider with their new video layout in the coming weeks.

Although it might not be possible for Facebook to take on YouTube completely, but the updated interface should help them to keep eyes on their site rather than referring users to Google's hands.
