2015 Jeep Renegade Specs And Latest News; New Model Given A January 6, 2015 Release Date

| By

Compact SUV's are the current trend in the automotive world: Nissan's Juke, Ford's EcoSport and last month the introduction of another Japanese manufacturers model, the Honda HR-V.

The 2015 Jeep Renegade which was also unveiled last month adds to that list, and is set to arrive in showrooms on January 6, 2015.

Next year's models will be available in a few trims: The base Sport model will be powered by a 1.6 eTorq motor producing 108 BHP while the Auto Low Trailhawk, will be powered by 2.0 liter MJet engine.

Standard equipment on the Sport model includes a touchscreen DAB Radio with Bluetooth, air conditioning and will sit on 16 inch alloy wheels. It will also feature an electronic parking brake, cruise control, a six-speaker audio system and optional 17 inch alloys.

Apart from the flagship Trailhawk and the base Sport model, buyers can also choose from the Longitude and Limited models. Standard features on the Limited model include heated steering wheels and front seats, rear parking sensors and 18 inch alloys.

The highest trim, the Trailhawk, will come with dual-climate control air-conditioning, skid plates on the fuel tank and an upgraded suspension: MacPherson rear struts and Chapman struts at the front. High ground clearance coupled with stiff suspension gives the driver an off road experience. The new model stands at a 4.2 meter to distinguish it from the Wrangler and Cherokee.

A new exterior design is also introduced, to which developers claim to reduce drag coefficient. The seven slot grille appears at the front retaining the Renegade's traditional styling.

The 2015 Jeep Renegade was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this year and is one of 2015's most anticipated releases in the compact SUV division with a pricetag to be announced soon.
