New details of Honda's HR-V have been confirmed ahead of its arrival in February 2015. The new vehicle will join the ranks in the small SUV classification going against existing models such as Nissan's Juke and Ford EcoSport, as well as newcomers like the CX-3 from Mazda.
The new SUV is based on the Honda Jazz and will be made available to the market in three trims: VTi, VTi-L and VTi-S - all powered by a 1.8 litre gasoline engine that runs on a CVT automatic transmission gearbox.
Some of the specs confirmed with the HR-V include LED rear lights, a standard reverse camera, daytime running lamps and 16-inch wheels in the VTi-S.
The top trim, VTi-L, will feature front and rear parking sensors, leather seats, a paddle-shift steering wheel, dual-climate air conditioning, and panoramic sunroof and will sit on 17-inch alloy wheels.
Honda also featured a new safety device on the new compact SUV; Lane Watch is a system that uses a small side-mirror camera to monitor what is in the left lane and display the car's blind spot when the left turn light is activated. It wil also feature the City-Brake Active System, which monitors the road ahead and will apply the brakes if it detects an imminent accident on the road ahead.
