Several weeks after the rumors on the internet and in the media surrounding Mel B's marriage, the 39-year-old former member of Spice Girls, Melanie Brown, or better known as Mel B, has finally spoken in response to the speculation. Brown finally responded to the rumors via Instagram on Dec. 28 defending her husband Stephen Belafonte.
"This is for my fans havin problems with my Twitter will be back soon! I'm very good was very polly but much better now and for the record my hubby never would lay a hand on me sorry took so long but any response fuels rumors #lovemyfamily #lovemyfans," Brown captioned as she shared a photo with 39-year-old Belafonte.
The speculation started going around in the internet and media when the fans noticed that there were bruises present on "The X Factor" judge's face and arms. Prior to that episode of X Factor, Brown was not able to attend the show's semi-finals due to an unspecified illness which forced her to visit the hospital. It was only when she returned to the show, that the people noticed her bruises and moreover, she was not wearing her wedding ring.
Her husband, Stephen Belafonte, has spoken out on both the social media and to the press about the ongoing rumors of his domestic abuse since it first broke out. "Who accused me of it, did she accuse me of it, the police, the hospital, who accused me of it? No one has accused me of anything," Belafonte told "The Daily Mail" on Dec. 17, denying the speculation.
"You'll see all the legal letters going out tomorrow," the 39-year-old film producer continued. "Everybody's been contacted by Mel's representative, all the papers, that said: 'I did not hit her, this isn't going on, that's not going on.'"
Brown even posted an Instagram photo on Christmas Day with the caption, "Have a merry Christmas! #familytime #funday". The couple looked happy in the pic as the two posed smiling with their three daughters.
