Egypt is officially a big brother! On December 27, Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz welcomed a new baby boy to their family. To mark the exciting day, Keys shared a picture of her newborn son's footprints along with his unique name, Genesis Ali Dean. The baby boy was born at 1:52 in the morning, weighing at 6 pounds and 5 ounces.
"The joy of joy is joy!! It's a boy!! we are so grateful!! #blessings!!," the mom of now two captioned the Instagram photo.
Five months ago, the Grammy-winning 33-year-old singer and the 35-year-old producer Beatz announced on Instagram that they were expecting again through a pic of Keys' baby bump. "Happy Anniversary to the love of my life @therealswizzz!!" she captioned the photo.
"And to make it even sweeter we've been blessed with another angel on the way!!" she said further. "You make me happier than I have ever known! Here's to many many more years of the best parts of life!"
It was during a September appearance on "The View" that she disclosed her due date. "They tell me Dec. 31," she revealed, subsequently talking about parenthood, "Being a mother has definitely given me more of a fierceness and an understanding of just what I believe in, that much more."
In May of 2010, it was confirmed that the Keys and Beatz were engaged and were expecting a child together. Three months later, the couple said their 'I do's at a private home on the Mediterranean Sea. They had their unborn child blessed in a Zulu ceremony in the Illovo suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. After two months, in New York City, they welcomed their first son, Egypt Daoud Ibarr Dean. The R&B artist recorded a song together with Eve entitled "Speechless" which is dedicated to her son, Egypt.
