'Star Wars' Spin-off Movie: 'Breaking Bad' Actor Aaron Paul Rumored To Star In Han Solo Centric Episode

Aaron Paul as Han Solo in a Star Wars spin-off? Well, looks like this is about to happen. Internet has been swamped by news saying the Breaking Bad star is being eyed for the role of Han Solo in the first ever spin-off film produced out of the Star Wars franchise.

Making Star Wars Editor In Chief Jason Ward provided some tidbits about the Star Wars spin-off.

"I generally shy away from reporting too much on the specifics of the stand-alone spin-off Star Wars films because we hear so much stuff it can be difficult to know what to take seriously," he posted.

"Since there has never been a Star Wars spin-off film like what we're about to get, there's no good or bad track record. For this reason, we're having to rely pretty much entirely on the sources that have panned out for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. So today's information comes from a friend that did give us legit Star Wars: The Force Awakens set photos and more."

The juiciest part of his updates about Star Wars spin-off is the possible casting of Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul for the lead role.

"They went on to say the word around the current production at Pinewood is that Aaron Paul is looking to be attached to the first Star Wars spin-off film in some fashion."

Almost two weeks ago, Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul reportedly starred in a one-night-only live-read of The Empire Strikes Back put up by director Jason Reitman. Casting the 35-year old actor and multiple Primetime Emmy Award was not that hard according to Reitman. In an interview with the Entertainment Weekly, the director said that Aaron Paul was his first choice for the role of Luke Skywalker.

"The first thing I had to figure out was who is going to be the voice of Luke," Reitman says. "My first instinct was, 'Who is the actor most like Mark Hamill today?' But five minutes into that, I'm thinking we already have that, we already have Star Wars as it is. What is the opposite of that?"

"Jesse from Breaking Bad questions authority in a much different way than Luke Skywalker does. He growls at it, and his annoyance at his journey will be unique from the traditional boy-to-man transition."
