Crossover episodes have been among the biggest events on TV right now, especially to those that belong to comics genre. The most notable are the two-night crossover episodes between CW Network's "The Flash and Arrow." For two episodes, Grant Gustin's Barry Allen and Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen fought each other and work together to defeat villains. "The Flash and Arrow" crossover episodes was made possible because they are from the same network. Can NBC TV series "Constantine" join them in the future?
With DC Comics' resurgence in television, many "Constantine" TV series spoilers are coming out talking about the possibility of a supernatural detective joining "The Flash and Arrow." Even Stephen Amell himself is rooting for it. However, there are no legit discussions yet about crossover episodes. The fact that they are from different networks also does not help the cause.
For Matt Ryan who plays the title role in "Constantine" TV series, doing crossover episodes with other DC Comics-based show is good. And if there is a chance, he hopes he can do it with bigger names, like the ones that appear in the big screen. Talking to the Mirror, the Welsh actor was asked if "Constantine" could appear with Henry Cavill's "Superman" or Ben Afflecck's "Batman" given the fact that they are of the same Cinematic Universe.
"I'm not sure. The show's made by Warner Bros., which has the deal with DC, and it's licensed to NBC, so I don't know how the ins and outs of that work. But as an actor, how amazing would that be to do a crossover?"
"Constantine" sharing the same screen with "Batman" and "Superman" might be far-fetched. The last two DC superheroes are already established while "Constantine" TV series is yet to flourish. The show is just in its first season and is struggling heavily in ratings. However, Matt Ryan said that he is confident they will be renewed for a second season. He is also banking on Constantine's cult fan base to keep them going.
