Actress Jena Malone who had cameo appearance in this year's "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" is getting more screen time in her upcoming movie with Joaquin Phoenix in Inherent Vice. Malone will also be appearing in 2016's arguably greatest crossover film, Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice.
It's still unclear who the "Sucker Punch" star will play in the sequel to 2013's Man of Steel. Theories from various sources have been non-stop since; to no surprise commissioner Jim Gordon's daughter, Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl & Oracle. Others say that she could take on the role of Carrie Kelley, Batman's sidekick in Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns".
Rumors of Malone playing Batman's sidekick sparked when the actress showed up on Snyder's set with her hair colored crimson, similar to Kelley's in the comic books, she put fuel to the flame when she tweeted an image of her new hair-do.
While non of these theories have been confirmed official, fans around the world couldn't help but speculate these roles as it would bring a new angle on the Batman series.
What is confirmed however, is Jeremy Irons bagging the role of Bruce Wayne's butler and one-man support group Alfred Pennyworth.
The actor sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss his character in the upcoming film. Without revealing too much, the actor mentioned that fans are in for a surprise if they're expecting him to follow how his predecessors (Michael Caine and Michael Gough) portrayed the role, but also said that his part is "not a large one".
"He is quite a different Alfred than we have seen so far. Zack Snyder had very clear views about what he wanted... I would just say he's more hands-on perhaps than just a butler."
Screen Rant has confirmed that Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot) will be introduced in Dawn of Justice. Another character debuting in Hollywood is Aquaman, also slated to appear in the movie. In a surprising move by director Zack Snyder, Jesse Eisenberg of "The Social Network" fame will take on the role of Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor.
Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman while Ben Affleck takes on the cape and cowl as the new Batman.
