Breaking news! Your favorite rapper is not what he is. In an interview, Eminem, Marshall Mathers in real life, admitted that he is gay.
Actually, it is just one scene in the controversial film The Interview. Eminem had a cameo in the film that made headlines over the past week after being cancelled amid the demands of hackers allegedly from North Korea. The 42-year old appeared in a fictional talk show hosted by James Franco's David Skylark.
The conversation between Eminem and Dave started serious. They were talking about the things that the rapper is afraid of. Their discussion lead to Eminem saying 'because I'm gay.'
"Or, you know, when I say things about gay people and people think that my lyrics are homophobic, you know, it's because I'm gay," Eminem said in his scene in The Interview.
Dumbfounded, the newsroom momentarily stopped. They were shocked by the rapper's confession.
"People probably are shocked by what you're saying," Franco's character asked Eminem as if trying to confirm that what he heard was right.
"I'm more shocked with people haven't figured it out now. I mean, it's kind of like I've been playing gay peek-a-boo," said Eminem.
Seth Rogen's Aaron Rapoport was as shocked as everyone and among the first words that came out of his mouth, "This is the greatest moment in gay history!"
Eminem's cameo scene in The Interview is one of those that garnered great reviews from movie goers.
It took some time before people got to see Eminem's cameo scene or the whole The Interview movie itself after Sony Pictures decided to pull it off amid threats from hackers who call themselves Guardians of Peace. However, at the last minute, the company decided to push The Interview's release saying it is to promote freedom of speech. Before that, another group of hacker called Anonymous tweeted that they will find a way to get a copy of the Interview to the public.
