Kate Middleton and Prince William Join Royal Family for Christmas Service in Sandringham But Why Were Prince George and Camilla Absent?

| By

It's church time for The Royals! On Christmas Day, Duchess of Cambrudge Kate Middleton and Prince William attended a Christmas service at the St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham. However, there were quite a few members of the royal family that were not present during the special occasion.

There had been rumors that baby Prince George would be attending the service, but according to the palace officials, that would be highly unlikely to happen because most of the children usually start attending at around 4 or 5 years old. A source shared that the 17-month-old baby went to church last December 21st, where he attended a candlelit service with his royal parents in Anmer Church.

Prince George was not the only one missing at the service. His step-grandmother Camilla Parker Bowles had a health issue which caused her to be absent at the service. "The Duchess put her back out earlier in December and has been in pain and is receiving physiotherapy," an official from the Clarence House stated. "The doctors have advised against any travel."

The Queen, along with the other members of the royal family including Prince Harry, Prince Charlies, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and others, entered the church just before 11 a.m, where her royal highness was seen wearing a bright pink Angela Kelly number.

Prince William and his wife had come from the Sandringham House, where they spent their morning. The glowing Duchess was seen snuggled up in a stylish long brown tweed coat created by Moloh from the British band's 2013 fall collection. The expecting royal accessorized her outfit by matching these with a brown pillbox hat, matching gloves, and gold earrings.

Her family, consisting of parents Carole and Mike, and siblings James and Pippa, also accompanied the royal family at the church service, but were not invited for the Christmas lunch at the Sandringham House.

In the church, the congregation started off with "God Save The Queen," and was subsequently followed by the hymns, "Once in Royal David's City" and "O Come All Ye Faithful."

After wrapping up the service, the royal family stood outside the church and greeted the crowds. The Duchess was given several bouquets of flowers and was even heard apologizing to a fan for not bringing Prince George with them. "I'm sorry we didn't bring George but you would have heard him in the church," she said, smiling.
