Last month, Scott Foley and his wife, Marika Dominczyk welcomed a baby boy to the family, their third child together and since then, it has not been the same for the life of the couple. Earlier this month, the "Scandal" star talked about his parenting life at Charisma's Breakfast in Bed event. He revealed all the crazy but amazing developments at home.
"It's terrifying," he confessed. "It should scare the hell out of you. But it's amazing. There's nothing else I can think of that has that juxtaposition of being at once terrifying and the worst thing you can do for your happy life and the best thing you can do for your happy life to make it even better."
Given that Foley already has two children, a 5-year-old daughter named Malina and a 2-year-old son named Keller, prior to his third, he is of course used to the challenges and priorities of being a parent. However, their 1-month-old baby boy was still an adjustment for them. "I've had a ton of practice and I wasn't sure I wanted any more practice," the 42-year-old star admitted. "But I'm so glad I'm practicing again. It's great. With three kids, I spend all my time at home now."
Not really. By day, he is Jake Ballard on ABC's "Scandal" and by night, he is a dedicated father. Lately, the role has been requiring him to be shirtless on camera. "I'm not sure how this happened. I was never the guy who people said, 'Oh, he looks great with his shirt off!'" Foley joked. "I was never that guy. But somewhere along the line, Shonda [Rhimes] said, 'Maybe I can make him that guy!'"
Not that there was anything wrong with the role he's been playing. Before he seduced Olivia Pope (played by Kerry Washington) on "Scandal", he played the role of Noel Crane on "Felicity".
"People still talk to me about "Felicity" all the time," Foley shared. When asked if there will be a reunion in the future, the actor replied, "I don't know." Although, he said that he still keeps in touch with some of his former co-stars.
"I watch Keri [Russell] on The Americans, and I think she's fantastic. And I ran into Scotty Speedman in Beverly Hills like two months ago," he said. "I was driving down the street going to a dentist appointment, and he was walking the other way, and I yelled at him, 'Speedman!' He was very 'Ben,'" he joked. "He, like, ran his hand through his hair and was like, 'Oh, hey, man, I'll call you in a bit.' And that was the last time I saw him! So funny."
