After almost 10 years of being a couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally tied the knot just this past August, but the 39-year-old actress and filmmaker said in a recent interview that the married life is not easy and bright all the time.
"Maintaining a marriage and raising kids is hard work," she told "The Australian Women's Weekly". "[Pitt and I] work really hard at nurturing our family to make sure that everybody is alright and everyone stays connected."
The happy couple announced their engagement back in April of 2012, just after seven years of being together. On August 23rd of this year, the 51-year-old actor Brad Pitt married the beautiful "Maleficent" star in an intimate, private ceremony in their Château Miraval estate in France. Even with their separate busy schedules, they finally found the time for their wedding together, just before promoting her second year of directorial effort and Pitt began press for his new war drama film entitled "Fury", set during World War II.
"You have to really make sure that your work doesn't get in the way," the actress added. "That you don't do something that is going to put too much strain on your family."
Jolie, who fell in love with her leading man on the set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" back in 2005, walked down the aisle and exchanged vows in front of her and Pitt's six children, three of whom are adopted. They are the parents of eldest son, 13-year-old, Maddox, 11-year-old Pax Thien, 9-year-old daughters Zahara Marley and Shiloh Nouvel, and 6-year-old twins, Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline.
"They're six of the funniest people we have ever met in our lives," Jolie said about her children. "We love being home and we love being around them because they are just so entertaining."
